Trauma is Everywhere

Across 25 years, Equal Justice USA has engaged with every type of stakeholder in the justice system. The one consistency among them all is that they carry trauma. And a glaring truth about today’s justice system—which inflicts substantial trauma upon millions—is that it doesn’t provide the healing any of these parties need.

By asserting that trauma is at the root of what ails the justice system, we can pursue an agenda of change to transform what justice is.
