EJUSA Trauma & Healing Network

Trauma Network Member Miles Mulrain

The only way we’re going to overhaul our broken justice system is by listening to the people it has failed and engaging them in new visions of justice. That is why EJUSA formed our Trauma and Healing Network. This group of leaders includes survivors of violence; victims’ family members; victim service providers; and those who have been involved in the justice system, including law enforcement and formerly incarcerated people. Together, we are changing national conversations around violence, trauma, and healing.

The Trauma and Healing Network convenes regularly to discuss ideas and strategies for building trauma-informed approaches to justice, while changing the way we talk about trauma and its effects. Members and EJUSA staff talk about unique experiences with trauma and establish ways to integrate a trauma-informed lens into our work and communities at large.

Network Member Spotlight

"I met EJUSA in 2016 and went to the Trauma to Trust training. It wasn’t until that training that I was able to identify my own trauma. That training for me has been paramount to the work I do today. EJUSA went beyond capacity building and became a mentor for my leadership."

Throughout the year, network members act as a supportive community to one another for sharing ideas and resources. We also work to elevate member voices through thought-leadership opportunities and connect network members to funding, educational resources, and trainings to bolster their individual and organizational growth.
