Learn more about Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)
What is a donor-advised fund (DAF)?
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is an account to which you contribute cash, stocks, real estate, and other assets for the sole purpose of redistribution to charitable organizations. Your DAF funds are invested for tax-free growth, and you receive an immediate tax deduction upon contribution. You maintain an advisory role over your DAF and can direct the funds to any charitable organization of your choice with a one-time gift or recurring monthly donations. You can give to one charity or multiple, all from a single DAF.
DAFs are the fastest-growing charitable giving vehicle in the United States because they are one of the easiest and most tax-advantageous ways to give.
How do I set up a donor-advised fund (DAF)?
DAFs can be easily set up through your financial institution or through a community foundation to serve as a flexible charitable giving vehicle. For more information on how to establish a DAF, contact your community foundation or financial advisor.
