Summer camp welcomes kids who have lost a parent to murder

Emma Weisfeld-Adams

The Sheilah A. Doyle (SAD) Foundation is partnering with ComfortZone Camp to host a weekend camp for kids who have lost a parent to homicide.

The camp will be from Friday, September 7, 2012 to Sunday, September 9, 2012 in Frankfort, Illinois. It's available free of charge to kids from across the country.

Comfort Zone Camp is the nation's largest bereavement camp offering weekend camps to children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, or primary caregiver. SAD provides support and assistance to children ages 7-17 whose parent, legal guardian, or sibling fell victim to homicide. Together they hope to give children who have endured the worst imaginable experience something positive.
